In seeking research to support my clients, I was struck by how little existed on the topic of the interplay of hormones and Autistic women. This gap prompted me to design and conduct my own study where I invited 101 Autistic women—followers of my Instagram account—to complete a 28-question survey via Google Forms, titled “Hormonal Changes and the Associated Impact on Autistic Women.”
The responses were abundant, deeply personal, and richly detailed and form much of the basis of the information I will be sharing with you in this 54 page handbook.
This handbook explores:- The physical and emotional changes of puberty
- How sensory experiences may shift
- Social and identity challenges
- Strategies for support and empowerment
Each section is written with the young Autistic woman in mind, at times accompanied by extra detail for those who enjoyadditional information. This may be useful to share with your supporters (parents, medical practitioners, therapeutic supporters).
