Dr. Adam Hazlett is a renowned advocate for and expert in neurodiversity and inclusion, whose work is enriched by a deep understanding of the humanities and the complexities of human interaction. With two master’s degrees and a doctorate in humanities, along with certifications in Disability Inclusion from the University of Michigan and Neurodiversity from Florida State University, Dr. Hazlett combines academic insight with practical expertise in equitable design and user experience. His work focuses on helping institutions across sectors understand the importance of accessibility, empathy, and equity, offering training that emphasizes neuro-inclusion and micro-accommodations to foster more inclusive environments.
In addition to his role as a tenured professor of humanities at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Michigan, Dr. Hazlett actively contributes to disability advocacy. He serves as Director of Public Relations for Self-Advocates of Michigan, a statewide organization affiliated with the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council, and is also the founder and executive director of
Humanities101 was founded by and for autistic individuals. Our mission is to normalize neurodivergence in all of its forms. We focus on autism and neurodiversity outreach and education with workshops and community discussions. We believe that there is no such thing as “Normal.” We also seek to provide support and provide resources to autists, their families, and their communities. We believe that access and belonging leads to a stronger community.
Humanities 101, led by Dr. Hazlett, offers neuro-affirming coaching services designed to empower individuals by embracing their unique neurological profiles. With a compassionate, evidence-based approach, Humanities 101 supports self-awareness, personal growth, and goal achievement.
Clients benefit from Dr. Hazlett’s expertise and access to tailored resources and support structures designed to meet their specific needs, fostering success and confidence in every aspect of life. THIS IS NOT THERAPY. You are asked to ALREADY have a therapeutic relationship before beginning this coaching. We help achieve goals that YOU set for yourself (sometimes with help of your therapist).
We offer COTHU training for families and parents and neuro-affirming coaching for adult professionals and college students.
